Working Group of Committee Chairmen (2002 ---)

Extract from Dáil Éireann Standing Orders Relative to Public Business:

98. (1) There shall stand established a Working Group of Committee Chairmen consisting of the Chairman of each Standing, Select, Special and Joint Committee, other than the Committee on Procedure and Privileges, to perform the functions set out in this Standing Order.

(2) The Working Group may consider matters affecting services to Committees generally, may liaise and consult on matters of common interest to Committee Chairmen, and shall make recommendations in relation to—

(a) apportionment of monies available to Committees for consultancy and travel, subject to such rules as may be determined from time to time under Standing Order 97(3)(b);

(b) allocation of accommodation available for Committee meetings;
and

(c) any other matter which may be referred to the Working Group from time to time:

Provided that no such recommendation shall be made in relation to the exercise by the Committee on Procedure and Privileges of its powers under Standing Order 97.

(3) The Working Group may, subject to the provisions of the Staff of the Houses of the Oireachtas Act, 1959, also make recommendations on any matter relevant to the provision of services to Committees falling within its remit.
