The Joint Committee on European Affairs, chaired by Mr. Bernard J. Durkan, T.D., is a Parliamentary Committee consisting of members of Dáil Éireann and Seanad Éireann.

As part of its Work Programme for 2001 the Committee is considering the Treaty of Nice. To assist the Committee in its consideration and to ensure that all views are considered by the Committee, the Committee has decided to invite written submissions from members of the public and other interested parties who may wish to convey their views to the Committee. The Committee may subsequently decide to invite selected correspondents to address a meeting of the Committee with a view to a discussion on their written submissions.
