Use Irish Language Resources

Fiontar (DCU) and the Placenames Branch in the Department of Community, Equality and Gaeltacht Affairs have developed three Irish language resources:

• www.logainm.ie allows you to access simultaneous Irish-English and English-Irish translations of lists of placenames. It also provides sound recordings of some placenames, background information notes on certain placenames, mapping tools, and more.




• www.ainm.ie is an Irish language biography project. 28 biographies are available online.




• www.focal.ie is the national database of Irish language terminology.
