JP is the assistant secretary for Corporate Affairs and Strategic Development (Acting).

As head of Corporate and Strategic Development in the department, JP has responsibility for:

the Rural Regeneration and Development Fund (RRDF)
leading and growing the Department's strategic policy development
policy coordination
research and evaluation
HR
finance
communications and other business support functions to strengthen the departments capacity to deliver on its overall objectives of rural and community development
