Fiona Ward is Assistant Secretary with responsibility for Employment Services, encompassing the public employment service, policy and operations, comprising employment activation supports, Intreo employment services countrywide and Intreo partner employment services (contracted services), as well as employment programmes (including Community Employment, Tus and RSS) and employer relations/engagement.
She also serves as Ireland’s representative on the EU Public Employment Services Network. Fiona has held many roles across the department with a long track record of service delivery and service modernisation.
From 2017 to 2021, Fiona served as Principal Officer in the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment with responsibility for Economic Migration Policies, the Employment Permit System, as well as leading and coordinating Ireland’s engagement the International Labour Organisation’
Fiona was appointed Assistant Secretary in the Department of Social Protection in October 2021.
