"Today’s release of Israeli and Thai hostages held in captivity by Hamas is a welcome relief for them and their families. It is also an important moment in the continuing ceasefire.

"I warmly welcome today’s developments and urge all concerned to meet their commitments under the ceasefire and hostage release deal.

"I also welcome the increased levels of aid reaching Gaza. This needs to continue at speed. We need to see a return of basic services, the provision of shelter, and a clear framework under which those who have been displaced by the conflict can return.

"All remaining hostages must be released and reunited with their families."
