Minister of State for European Affairs and Defence, Thomas Byrne, today launched a report by the Embassy of France on the French Economic Footprint in Ireland.
The report highlights the extent of French investment in Ireland and the strength of Franco-Irish economic connections. The report provides an overview of Ireland and France’s trading relationship and the presence and activity of French companies in Ireland.
Speaking at the launch of the report, the Minister said: “I am delighted to mark the launch of this report on the French economic footprint in Ireland by the Embassy of France in Ireland. The report highlights the depth of the Franco-Irish economic partnership. It also offers an opportunity to reflect on the future direction of our economic relationship and areas of potential further trade and business collaboration. It is clear that the dynamic and growing Irish business presence in France is mirrored by an equally strong French presence in Ireland.”
The report is being launched by the Embassy of France in Ireland on the same day as the France-Ireland Economic Forum taking place in Iveagh House, Dublin on 13 November, with the title ‘France–Ireland Economic Cooperation: Advancing Europe’s Strategic Priorities’.
