Appointments to the Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council - 23 September 2021

The Minister for Health, Stephen Donnelly TD has appointed the following members to the board of Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council.

Martin O’Reilly

Appointed, following a public appointments service process as a person with a special interest or expertise in pre-hospital emergency care. The Appointment is from 14 June 2021 to 13 of June 2025.

Martin O’Reilly is a native of Dublin City and has been involved in pre-hospital emergency care for 32 years. In serving as a member of Dublin Fire Brigade (DFB), Martin has worked as a Firefighter-Emergency Medical Technician, Paramedic and Advanced Paramedic. He is currently the District Officer for Emergency Medical Services in the DFB.

Over the years Martin has been involved in pre-hospital education and training with the DFB and their educational partners, the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI). He has also served as a volunteer with the Irish Heart Foundation, teaching on their community CPR programme.

Martin has been a member of the Medical Advisory Committee of the Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC) for almost twenty years as a Facilitator.
