Appointments to the Tallaght University Hospital Board:

The Minister for Health Jennifer Carroll MacNeill TD has appointed/reappointed the following persons as members to the Tallaght University Hospital Board.

Candidate Biographies

David Walsh

Mr Walsh served as National Director of Community Operations (June 2018 to June 2020 & August 2023 to March 2024). In this role he was operationally responsible for all community-based services within, or funded by, the HSE including Disability, Mental Health, Older Persons and Primary Care. Mr Walsh also held the role as National Director of National Schemes & Reimbursement (September 2020 to March 2024). Within this role he was the lead for the HSE’s Mass Vaccination Centre programme as part of the overall vaccination programme incorporating both staff and public vaccinations. During this period, he also had responsibility for the HSE’s Primary Care Reimbursement Service.

From 2003 to 2018 he was a senior operational manager through various iterations of the Health Service including several years as a Chief Officer of Community Services, Regional Director of Performance & Integration, Integrated Services Area Manager, Local Health Manager and General Manager of Community Services.

Mr Walsh currently works part-time as an advisor to Odyssey Social Care and he also became a Director of Enable Ireland in September 2025. Mr Walsh previously volunteered with the Mental Health Charity GROW for almost 15 years.
