Minister Cummins said:

We are continuing to see housing indicators moving in the right direction. These latest planning permission figures – taken with the positive commencements data published today by our department – shows we are moving in the right direction and building a sustainable pipeline of new homes.

I’m particularly glad to see a steep increase in the number of apartment planning approvals, which suggests the measures this Government has taken to incentivise much-needed apartment building are starting to have an impact.”
