Pension Policy and North West Centralised Schemes Division advises the Minister on policy developments in the social welfare, occupational and private pensions areas, liaise with relevant groups, draft legislation, and bring forward policy proposals in all these areas.
This division are responsible for annual agency reports, paying benefits and policies surrounding older people.
They manage, administer and strategise contributory schemes such as:
- SPC Widow(er)'s and surviving civil partner’s contributory pension WSCPCP and guardians contributory and non-contributory payments
- Information and Customers Services
- blind pension
- deserted wives benefit and allowance schemes
- household benefits
- fuel allowance
- free travel schemes
- fuel poverty issues
- Local Property Tax DAS
- Bereavement Grant
- payments to women who worked in Magdalen Laundries and other institutions and the provision of office
- HR support services for the SWS Sligo
- Child Benefit
- Treatment Benefit
- Domiciliary Care and Maternity Benefit schemes
- System Control
- Internal Control Debt Management
- Management information Systems relating to these schemes
