Donegal County Council proposes to carry out the following proposed development in the townlands of Beaugreen Glebe, Dunkineely, and Ballymagowan parallel to the N56 Dunkineely in accordance with the drawings and documents associated with the Part 8 application:
- Section 1 (Killaghtee House to Castle View) – Shared Active Travel Path North of Carriageway. In this Section the scheme introduces a 3 m-wide shared pedestrian and cyclist path on the north side of the N56, aligned with existing pedestrian desire lines
- Section 2 (Castle View to Springfield) – Tie-In with Proposed RSIS Scheme – Gateway Crossings. In this section the scheme retains the existing carriageway and footpath arrangement through the town centre, introducing raised combined zebra crossings only at the eastern and western tie-in points to integrate with Sections 1 and 3 and the separate N56 Dunkineely NS Road Safety Improvement Scheme (RSIS)
- Section 3 (Springfield to Naomh Ultan GAA Club) – Shared Active Travel Path on North Side. In this section the scheme provides a 3 m-wide shared path on the north side with landscaped buffer, using existing hard shoulder and reducing carriageway width
