The Minister for Health, Simon Harris TD, has appointed Councillors Anne Feeney and Críona Ní Dhálaigh as members of St James's Hospital Board on the nomination of Dublin City Council. These appointments are for the period from 11 October 2019 and will expire when a new Council is formed in 2024.
Anne Feeney has been a Dublin City Councillor since 2016 and is on the Board of the City of Dublin Education Board (CDETB). Anne is also a member of the HSE Regional Health Forum for Dublin and Mid Leinster and serves on several policy committees of Dublin City Council including Traffic and Transport and the Arts, Culture, Leisure and Recreation committee and the Protocol committee.
Prior to her election as Councillor Anne was a management consultant, working with clients in the private and public sector on strategic planning, change management and organisation development. Earlier in her career Anne held senior manager positions in the financial services sector. She holds a master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from UCD and is also a qualified mediator.
Born and raised in Dublin, Cllr Críona Ní Dhálaigh has served on Dublin City Council since 2006. She was elected Lord Mayor of Dublin in 2015/16. She represents one of the most disadvantaged constituencies in the country. She has a passion for housing and community regeneration. She serves on three major housing regeneration boards, St Teresa’s Gardens, Dolphin House and The Inchicore Regeneration consultative Forum.
Críona has worked to ensure family friendly housing and was a member of the City Council sub-committee that successfully improved the planning guidelines for apartments building, believing we should be building sustainable communities not just bricks and mortar. She has led the charge on ensuring social clauses become core elements of all council tendering process and championed the National Children’s Hospital Community Benefit Clause.
She has highlighted the damage done by drugs and anti-social behaviour. Críona sits on the Dublin City Joint Policing Committee and is also a member of the South Inner-City Local Drugs Task Force and a board member of the Donore Community Drug and Alcohol Team.
Críona is a member of the Dublin Mid Leinster Regional Health Forum and the Board of St James Hospital.
Críona is a Gaeilgeoir (Irish speaker) and a champion of Irish language rights.
