The Minister for Health, Simon Harris T.D., with the consent of the Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation, has reappointed the following as a non-professional member of the Occupational Registration Board from 5 May 2020 to 13 February 2024.
Ms Aisling Culhane
Ms Aisling Culhane possesses an MSc in Health Ethics & Law, HDip (Mediation) BSc, (Nursing Practice Development) Registered Psychiatric Nurse, AMI Mont Teaching Dip, Cert in Project Management & Communications.
As Research and Development Advisor Ms Culhane advises on professional and employment issues, is a member of and contributes to a number of steering groups and committees, on a variety of areas, both at national and international level such as: Clinical Leadership, Undergraduate and Postgraduate Education, Health & Nursing Policy Ms Culhane has extensive experience in mental health care delivery in Ireland working in clinical practice in both adult, child and adolescent mental health, policy advice and project management throughout her 26 years nursing career.
Much of her work involves developing structural liaisons and networks with national and international bodies i.e. Horatio European Network Psychiatric Nurses, Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) and developing and contributing to policy submissions National & International in related areas of law, policy and industrial relations.
She is the General Secretary of Horatio Association European Psychiatric Nurses and an Executive Member of the Irish Institute of Mental Health Nursing. She is a Fellow (FFNMRCSI) of the Faculty of Nursing & Midwifery RCSI and in 2014 was awarded an Honorary Teaching Fellow by the Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery RCSI. Aisling was appointed to the Health and Social Care Professionals Council CORU to the Occupational Therapists Board in 2016.
