Appointments to the Dietitians Registration Board

The Minister for Health, Simon Harris TD, with the consent of the Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation, has reappointed the following as a non-professional member of the Dietitians Registration Board from 5 May 2020 to 13 February 2024.
Dr Teresa Bruen
Dr Teresa Bruen currently works as a lecturer in Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology (GMIT) in the Department of Nursing, Health Sciences and Social Care. She holds a BSc in Nursing from NUI Galway and a H.Dip in Public Health Nursing from University College Dublin (UCD).
Dr Bruen holds a Masters in Primary Health Care from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) and a Doctorate in Education from the University of Sheffield. She is currently lecturing on the BSc (Hons) Programmes in General and Psychiatric Nursing and also lectures on the Bachelor of Arts Programme in Applied Social Care.
Dr Bruen has a keen interest in education and works well with other people. She is a member of Academic Council and has experience as an external examiner. She hopes to continue to make a valuable contribution to the Dietitians Registration Board and is particularly interested in education and widening participation.
Following a Public Service Appointments (PAS) campaign, the Minister for Health, Simon Harris T.D., has appointed the following as a non-professional member of the Dietitians Registration Board from 5 May 2020 to 13 February 2024.
Mr Eamonn Dunne
Mr Eamonn Dunne is currently employed as CEO for Northside Homecare Services (NHCS). NHCS employs 250 staff, providing homecare for 1,000 elderly clients and meals on wheels service to 900 clients in North Dublin. Mr Dunne was responsible for the integration of NHCS and Home Care North East Bay in 2014, later merging with KARE Social Services in 2017. Mr Dunne oversaw the change management process; turning the organisation into a vibrant and solvent enterprise. NHCS continues to grow and Mr Dunne is currently overseeing the integration of two similar organisations in the greater Dublin area.
NHCS was the first homecare company in Ireland to achieve the ISO 9001 quality award and also the Excellence Through People award.
In his previous employment Mr Dunne has worked as Managing Director and General Manager for both commercial and not for profit organisations including the Cherry Orchard Community Training Centre the North Centre City Community Action Project. Mr Dunne worked for almost 20 years in the construction industry and was founder and Managing Director of Dunne Contracting Ltd
Mr Dunne possesses a Masters in Business Administration (Honours) and is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Building, the Institute of Architects and Surveyors and of the World Organisation of Building Officials. Mr Dunne also has a Certificate in Sage Accountancy and in Health and Safety.
