Following a Public Service Appointments (PAS) campaign, the Minister for Health, Simon Harris TD, has appointed the following as a non-professional member of the Speech and Language Therapists Registration Board from 5 May 2020 to 13 February 2024.
Ms Lindsay Malone
Ms Lindsay Malone is an experienced board member who has served on the Community Training and Education Centre (CTEC) Board from 2014 to 2019, Gaisce National Council in 2018 and is a member of the Board of Pobal since 2019.
Assuming the role of CEO in two different organisations Ms Malone has developed an excellent working knowledge of corporate governance, risk management, change and financial management.
Ms Malone has a Certificate in Charity Law, Trusteeship and Governance from the Law Society of Ireland. This qualification has enabled her to develop a clear understanding of the main governance policies for organisations and which has led to her reporting to a number of boards.
Having managed various community based initiatives including, Ms Malone has gained significant practical experience of working in the area of Social Care. On a national basis Ms Malone has led teams to take high level objectives set by the Department of Children and Youth Affairs and translated them into workable actions at local and regional level.
In her current role Ms Malone manages 200 Associate Lecturers across 3 Campuses and multiple disciplines, demonstrating her ability to work with others and build consensus across a broad range of stakeholders.
She has an honours degree in Social Care, a Post Graduate Diploma in Childhood and Youth, a Masters in Teaching and Learning and is currently studying for a PhD in Social Justice and Education.
