Due to inclement weather and sea conditions, the Office of Public Works (OPW) has made the decision to conclude the 2026 visitor season at Sceilg Mhichíl from Monday, 21 September 2026.
The decision has been taken in the interests of the health and safety of visitors and OPW staff. Access to Sceilg Mhichíl is dependent on favourable weather, sea and island conditions, and the challenging nature of the site requires particular regard to visitor and staff safety.
The OPW would like to thank all visitors who travelled to Sceilg Mhichíl during the 2026 season, as well as the boat operators and other local stakeholders for their continued cooperation and professionalism. It has been a very successful season and the OPW looks forward to welcoming visitors back to Sceilg Mhichíl in 2027.
