The GRO Search Room is located at Werburgh Street, Dublin 8, D08 E277.
The walk in service is available as below:
Tuesday | 10am - 12.30pm, 2pm - 4.30pm |
You can continue to avail of our email service detailing your search/index search request at GROResearchRoom@welfare.ie and a member of staff will assist.
Mask wearing and hand sanitising still apply when visiting the office.
Groups of more than 5 people are requested to send an email to the GROResearchRoom@welfare.ie to be advised how they can be accommodated.
This service requires that you have sufficient information to identify a specific entry from the index.
For reasons of data privacy, staff cannot conduct the research for you or conduct searches using speculative or non-specific information.

You can order copies of entries from the registers from our staff in the research room and if you wish to order certified copies of entries, you can still do so from the General Register Office in Roscommon.
