Note for Editors
Rachael Ingle is an actuary by profession and Managing Director of the Retirement & Investment business of Aon in Ireland. In this capacity, she has been very involved in the development of new investment products in recent years with the support of the Global Asset Engine team of Aon, resulting in more choice and operational efficiency in investing on behalf of Aon’s Irish clients.
She was elected Chairperson of the Irish Association of Pension Funds in 2013 in recognition of her ability to drive change in the retirement and investment management arena in Ireland.
In addition, as a Board Director of Aon's Irish Holding Company, she will bring an understanding of the world of insurance and claims management to NTMA’s Board.
Background to the appointment
This appointment follows a competition held by the Public Appointments Service (PAS) earlier this year to fill the vacancy which resulted from the departure of Willie Walsh at the end of 2018. That competition resulted in a list of candidates from which other vacancies arising within a 12 month period could also be filled. Ms. Ingle will fill the vacancy arising due to the fact that Mary Walsh will stand down from the Board at the end of her five year term in December 2019.
