Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, Catherine Martin, today announced funding of over €500,000 for the promotion of Irish arts globally through Culture Ireland’s Grants Programme.
The funding will benefit 75 projects spread across 24 countries and covering dance, film, literature, music, theatre and visual arts.
Announcing the awards, Minister Martin said:
“Through Culture Ireland, my department is working towards the Global Ireland 2025 aim, to double Ireland’s global cultural footprint by supporting our artists to present work to audiences worldwide. In the past two years 532 projects were supported by Culture Ireland with artists compelled to find new and innovative ways to reach international audiences. Emerging from the pandemic, it is vital that we continue to support them as their talent is endorsed by their continued selection to present on the world’s finest stages from Australia, across Asia and Europe, to the US and South America.”

The Minister added:
“As part of Budget 2023 I have secured an increase of €2 million from €4.6 million to €6.6 million for Culture Ireland. This additional funding will ensure that Culture Ireland can continue to promote Irish arts worldwide and to create opportunities and support the international careers of Irish artists. The funding will help Culture Ireland to achieve a wider reach for Irish arts and to continue to support strategic Irish Arts centres in London, New York and Paris to showcase the richness of Irish creativity to a global audience."
