Minister appoints 5 new members and reappoints 7 members to the Valuation Tribunal

The Valuation Tribunal is an independent statutory body which hears appeals against decisions of the Commissioner of Valuation on the valuation and revaluation of commercial properties for rating purposes under the Valuation Act 2001 as amended by the Valuation (Amendment) Act 2015. It also hears appeals made by owners of derelict sites against the determination by local authorities of the market values of those sites under the Derelict Sites Act 1990.
The Minister has appointed 5 new members and reappointed 7 members to the Valuation Tribunal.
New appointments:
Mr .Martin Connolly, Chartered Surveyor. (1st December 2020 to 30th November 2025).
Mr .Eamonn Maguire, Chartered Surveyor. (1st December 2020 to 30th November 2025).
Ms. Elaine Torpey, Chartered Surveyor. (1st December 2020 to 30th November 2025)
Mr. Gerard O’Callaghan, Chartered Surveyor. 1st December 2020 to 30th November 2025.
Ms. Rowena Mulcahy, Solicitor. (1st December 2020 to 30th November 2025).
The candidates all applied for the positions via the Stateboards.ie website operated by the Public Appointments Service. The new appointees have significant knowledge of surveying and rating law experience to bring to the Valuation Tribunal.

Mr. Hugh Markey, Deputy Chairperson. (18th December 2020 to 17th December 2025).
Mr. John Stewart, Deputy Chairperson. (18th December 2020 to 17th December 2025).
Ms. Majella Twomey, Deputy Chairperson. (18th December 2020 to 17th December 2025).
Ms. Orla Coyne, Ordinary Member. (18th December 2020 to 17th December 2025).
Mr. Liam Daly, Ordinary Member. (18th December 2020 to 17th December 2025).
Ms. Claire Hogan, Ordinary Member. (18th December 2020 to 17th December 2025).
Ms. Dairine MacFadden, Ordinary Member. (18th December 2020 to 17th December 2025).
This brings the membership of the Valuation Tribunal to 33.
