An Overview of the Use of Growing Up in Ireland Data Files 2010-19

This report documents the extent to which researchers have accessed available GUI datasets since 2010, highlights the range of institutions using the datasets and key research themes investigated. The report also provides practical advice on how researchers and policy makers can access the microdata files available from the study. The report is based on summary data made available to the DCYA for statistical purposes on the use of the GUI Research Microdata Files (RMF) and Anonymised Microdata Files (AMF)
Growing Up in Ireland (GUI) is the national longitudinal study of children, funded by the Department of Children and Youth Affairs (DCYA) and managed by DCYA in association with the Central Statistics Office (CSO). The overarching aim of the study is to examine the factors that contribute to or undermine the well-being of children in Ireland, and to contribute to the setting of effective and responsive policies relating to children and to the design of services for children and families.
