If you or your family require accommodation, you should let Immigration Officials know and you will be referred to the Ukraine Crisis Temporary Accommodation Team (UCTAT) of the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth. UCTAT will provide accommodation to those who indicate that they require such accommodation on arrival into Ireland, or in circumstances where privately arranged accommodation is no longer suitable.
To date, a significant number of people arriving in Ireland are seeking State-provided accommodation. This has resulted in a shortage of accommodation.
As a result, the department is also focussed on providing emergency accommodation to those who need it and you may be required to stay in community facilities, sports facilities or tented accommodation. Our partners and volunteers will try to ensure you are comfortable in such circumstances while the government works quickly to find alternative lodging.
Many people across Ireland have opened up their homes to provide temporary accommodation to people fleeing the conflict in Ukraine. Where homes are vacant they are inspected and where moves to shared homes involve children, vetting of adults living in the home take place. The department also continues to work with its partners to move persons into these properties.
