From: Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection

The Sign Language Interpreting Service (SLIS) promotes, represents, advocates and ensures the availability of quality interpretation services to Deaf people in Ireland. SLIS provides a number of services including a referral service to help clients find the right interpreter for their needs and the Irish Remote Interpreting Service (IRIS), which provides an online link to an Irish Sign Language (ISL) interpreter using programmes such as Skype, ooVoo or Webex. SLIS is funded and supported by the Citizens Information Board.
