There are two strands within this category.
Strand 1 offers a temporary educational measure for a child who is:
Strand 2 of this scheme is for children in care, who are without a school place due to emergency placement or placement disruption.

This scheme is to provide home tuition to students in a recognised school at post-primary level at junior or senior cycle, whose education may be disrupted due to pregnancy.

Part-time hourly home tuition grant rates have been revised with effect from 01 March 2023 under Building Momentum - A New Public Service Agreement 2021-2023

The home tuition grant rate increases will apply going forward and are set out hereunder.
The rates for home tuition payments from 01 March 2023 are as follows:
Primary Qualified Rate | €46.00 per hour |
Post Primary Qualified Rate | €50.50 per hour |
Modified Rate | €38.05 per hour |
Please note that the Department will no longer accept emailed claim forms for payment for home tuition. From 27th September 2021 all home tuition claim forms must be sent by POST to the Department at the address set out on the home tuition claim form.
