The Department of Communications, Climate Action & Environment's role in the Petroleum Affairs Division is to maximise the benefits to the State from exploration for and production of indigenous oil and gas resources. The Department also ensures that activities are conducted with due regard to their impact on the environment and other land/sea users. The Department is responsible for licensing and regulating oil and gas E&P activities, both offshore and onshore Ireland. Links to data and seismic information are also provided.
