From 2019 to 2023, the Department had a joint research agreement with the Economic and Social Policy Research Institute. Under this agreement the ESRI undertook research and analysis which helped inform policy making decisions.
The Department is partnered with the Irish Government Economic and Evaluation Service (IGEES). For example, through contribution of outputs to the IGEES work programme and participation in the IGEES advisory groups.
The Public Spending Code (PSC) is a set of rules and procedures that apply to ensure value for money for public services. This includes that a Quality Assurance Process is undertaken to report on how Departments and their agencies are meeting their PSC obligations.
Quality Assurance Reports
Pobal provides varying levels of management and support for a number of Department programmes. This includes administering programmes on behalf of the Department. Research and information outputs can be found on the research and analysis and programmes sections of its website.
The Charities Regulator is Ireland's national statutory regulator for charitable organisations. Its key functions include establishing and maintaining a public register of charitable organisations operating in Ireland and ensuring their compliance with the Charities Acts. Water Safety Ireland is the statutory, voluntary body and registered charity established to promote water safety in Ireland. Its focus is on raising water safety awareness and education. Research and information outputs can be found on the library section of its website.
The WDC a statutory body set up to promote both social and economic development in the Western Region (Donegal, Leitrim, Sligo, Mayo, Roscommon, Galway and Clare). Research and information outputs can be found on the policy analysis and publications sections of its website.
