A national Open Data Strategy for 2017 - 2022 was published in 2017. Open data is data that anyone can access, use and share, for example, real-time passenger information that allows members of the public to plan public transport journeys. The Open Data Strategy’s core objective is to make high value Government data publicly available and freely reusable. To facilitate this, the OGP and the Open Data Unit established frameworks for open data training and data management in January 2022. This project will drive digitalisation and data sharing across the public sector, bringing benefits for the public, business and the public sector.
