The Department of Public Expenditure and Reform has today (22 December) published its Gender Pay Gap Report 2022. This report is the result of analysis of payroll metrics from 25 June 2021 up to 24 June 2022.
The gender pay gap is the difference in the average hourly wage of men and women across the department.
**Our key findings are:
The mean gender pay gap indicates that, on average, men are paid 5.71% higher than women. Like all Civil Service organisations, the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform has equal pay for men and women in the same grades. As such, the gender pay gap arises as a result of the differences in the higher number of men occupying senior roles over the course of the reporting period.
The median gender pay gap indicates that, on average, women are paid 2% higher than men.
