CSSO governance focuses on legal, regulatory, policy and service obligations and on the relationships between the Attorney General, Director General of the Office of the Attorney General, Management Board, the committees, all staff and stakeholders, in determining the direction and performance of the organisation.
The purpose of the CSSO Corporate Governance Framework is to provide a clear and comprehensive summary of the principal aspects of corporate governance within the Office.
Government Decision No S29296 of 19 May 2009 requires that all Government Departments and Agencies pay suppliers within 15 days of receipt of a valid invoice. As part of this requirement, quarterly payment performance reports must be published on each organisation's website.
The Programme for Government 2011-2016 commits all Government departments and offices to publish details of Purchase Orders of €20,000 or greater. Details of purchase orders over €20,000 raised by the CSSO are published quarterly in arrears.
The Protected Disclosures Act 2014 provides a statutory framework within which Office of the Attorney General current or former staff members can raise concerns regarding potential wrongdoing within the workplace that has come to their attention, in the knowledge that they can avail of significant employment and other protections if they are penalised or suffer any detriment for doing so.
The Act specifies that the Office must publish, no later than 30 June each year, details relating to protected disclosures made within the Office in the immediately preceding year.
