Responsible for policy formulation and implementation and the legislative framework to protect, conserve, promote and develop the inland fisheries resource (including sea angling). To exercise corporate governance over Inland Fisheries Ireland and joint corporate governance as a Sponsor Department of the Loughs Agency (a North South Implementation Body). To participate in, and contribute to, EU technical and co-ordinating groups and international fisheries organisations.
