Mining Facility Notices

The Department of Climate, Energy and the Environment (DCEE) publishes notices where the Minister intends to grant or renew a State Mining Facility (Lease, Licence or Permission).

The notice invites the public to make representations to the Minister.

Persons wishing to make representations should make them by using the online representations form, or posting them to the Geoscience Regulation Office by the closure date.

A State Mining Lease or Licence is only granted or renewed when planning permission and a relevant EPA Licence are in place.

Once a State Mining Licence has been granted, a further notice will be published to allow potential owners of mineral rights to register those rights and to claim compensation.
