The SDG Ambassadors Programme allows former SDG Champions to be recognised for their continuing contribution to the promotion, awareness-raising, and implementation of the SDGs, on local, regional and national levels. Once their tenure as SDG Champion is over, they can choose to become SDG Ambassadors, and can continue the role on an annual basis.
Role and responsibilities
Role
- Be an advocate and promoter of the SDGs and sustainable development
- Act as a good practice example of how an organisation or group can contribute to the SDGs and integrate the SDGs into their work or activities
- Share learnings with others
Responsibilities
- Ongoing promotion of and linking of work to the SDGs
- Submission of an End-of-Year report on activities and achievements throughout the year
- Organisation of an SDG-related or promotional event during SDG Week
- Participation in other SDG-related workshops and events where appropriate
