The Department of Finance maintains official accounts on LinkedIn and X. These channels are managed by authorised Press Office staff and are connected to the Department’s official website.

• Official Department of Finance press releases will be shared on our social media channels in addition to our standard distribution channels.
  
  
• All social media posts will include descriptive alt text to ensure our content is accessible to all users. Where possible, video content will include captions.
  
  
• Alerts about new content on our website, as well as links to official publications relating to the work of the Department (e.g., CSO, Central Bank of Ireland, NTMA), will be shared via our social media channels.
  
  
• The official account may follow other Government Departments, agencies, and organisations relevant to the Department of Finance’s work. Following does not imply endorsement, and we do not automatically follow back.
  
  
• the official account will follow other government agencies and accounts followed by the Department of Finance target audience. If you follow us, we don’t necessarily follow you
  
  
• the account will attempt to provide a “behind the scenes” look at the Department of Finance and create a greater awareness of the work of the department
  
  
• failure to engage should not be viewed as a refusal to comment on a particular issue. The Department of Finance also takes no responsibility for any breakdown in the social media systems
