Tánaiste to visit California to strengthen Ireland’s economic partnership with the US

Tánaiste and Minister for Finance Simon Harris will travel to California (on Sunday, 11 January) to undertake an official visit aimed at strengthening Ireland’s economic partnership with the United States.
During the visit, the Tánaiste will emphasise the mutual benefits of Ireland’s trade and investment relationship with the US and promote opportunities for closer cooperation.
The Tánaiste’s programme will include a range of engagements with IDA and Enterprise Ireland client companies working in sectors such as digital tech, healthcare, MedTech and pharma, reflecting the breadth of economic links between Ireland and California.
The visit will also include a number of political engagements, including meetings with the Governor of California, Gavin Newsom, and the Mayor of San Francisco, Daniel Lurie.
Speaking ahead of the visit, the Tánaiste said:
“Ireland’s longstanding economic relationship with California is a cornerstone of our wider partnership with the United States.”

Across the US, more than 200,000 people are employed by almost 800 Irish companies.”
