Ronan Glynn

Ronan is Health Sector Lead at EY Ireland. A physiotherapist and medical doctor, with a PhD in surgical oncology and a Masters in Public Health. Ronan completed specialist training in Public Health Medicine and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland. Over the last 20 years, he has worked across virtually all parts of the healthcare system in Ireland. Ronan has held positions in patient-facing and policymaking roles, in multidisciplinary and cross-sectoral teams, and in public facing and politically challenging environments.

Prior to joining EY, Ronan worked as Deputy Chief Medical Officer at the Department of Health, he was head of the Health Protection Unit and a member of the team tasked with leading the national response to COVID-19, including as Acting Chief Medical Officer for six months of the pandemic. Ronan’s career progression has spanned clinical sciences, laboratory-based cancer research, and population health. He has published over fifty academic papers and has been an invited speaker at multiple national and international conferences. He is an Adjunct Professor at the UCD School of Business.
