These statistics show sick leave rates since the introduction of the Public Service Sick Leave Scheme which came into effect in the majority of sectors on 31st March 2014, and the Education Sector on 1st September 2014.
Following a review of the approach to the monitoring of sick leave across the public sector, it was decided that any future reporting of sick leave for the Public Service should now be the focus of each individual sector who are best placed to respond to their own workplace absence levels. Presently, the Civil Service does not publish sick leave statistics however previous published statistics are available below.
