Taoiseach and Minister Donohoe announce the winners of the 2016 Civil Service Excellence and Innovation Awards

An Taoiseach, Enda Kenny, TD, and the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform, Paschal Donohoe, TD, have announced the winners of the 2016 Civil Service Excellence and Innovation Awards. The awards, which are held each year to publicly recognise excellence and innovation and showcase best practice in Civil Service organisations, were presented at a ceremony in the Royal Hospital Kilmainham, Dublin last night.
Speaking at the ceremony, which he jointly hosted with the Taoiseach, the Minister said:
"Today is a very proud and special day and I am very pleased to acknowledge and celebrate the achievements of the award winning projects. I am delighted to congratulate the staff who worked on the projects and indeed all staff who participated in the awards process this year.
"The award winning projects this year are great examples of the good success stories in the Civil Service. They also show the tremendous range of complex work that the Civil Service does every day to support the Government and deliver public services. We are fostering a culture of innovation in the Civil Service and these awards demonstrate the high levels of innovation and excellence and the diversity of roles across the organisation. "
The Taoiseach, who presented the awards to the winning project teams, remarked that:
“The awards highlight the work and contribution of the Civil Service from teams working in the smallest frontline offices to larger project teams operating across several departments; these awards showcase the innovation, dedication and enthusiasm of civil servants to deliver a world class service to the Irish people.”
