EU Digital COVID Certificate
The EU Digital COVID Certificate is proof (in digital or paper format) that a person has either:
- been vaccinated against COVID-19
- received a negative or ‘not detected’ test result
- recovered from COVID-19 in the last 6 months
The Digital COVID Certificate will help citizens to travel safely within the EU during the COVID-19 pandemic, in line with the requirements of Regulation (EU) 2021/953 on a framework for the issuance, verification and acceptance of interoperable COVID-19 vaccination, test and recovery certificates (EU Digital COVID Certificate) to facilitate free movement during the COVID-19 pandemic and the European Union (EU Digital Covid Certificates) Regulations 2021 (S.I. No. 318 of 2021).
EU Digital COVID Test Certificate service for community pharmacies
Access to this service will allow pharmacies to generate EU Digital Test Certificates for all negative or ‘not detected’ RADT test results, in line with national and EU regulations.
Approved access to the EU Digital COVID Test Certificate service is contingent on pharmacies being compliant with the relevant national and EU regulations in respect to SARS-CoV-2 testing, associated public health measures, and the standards and obligations detailed in the standard operating procedure published below.
How to apply
Please be advised that new requests to access the digital service to generate EU Digital COVID Certificates are now closed for entities other than community pharmacies.
For community pharmacies requesting access to the digital service to generate EU Digital COVID Certificates for negative RADT:
1. Please ensure that you carefully read the Standard Operating Procedure document before signing and submitting.
2. Provide details of your pharmacy, including:
- pharmacy name
- address
- telephone number
- website address
3. Prior to receiving access to the EU Digital COVID Test Certificate service for test certificate generation, pharmacies are required to review and digitally sign the standard operating procedure and return by email to digitalcovidcerts@ipu.ie
4. Please ensure to scan all pages of the standard operating procedure into one document (preferably PDF) and submit from your pharmacy’s Healthmail account.
