Caroline McMullan, PhD, is a Full Professor of Business and Society at DCU Business School. Her teaching and research span a wide range of areas, including building resilient households, communities and organisations, risk management, and risk perception.
At a national level, Professor McMullan has made a significant contribution to risk management in Ireland through her involvement in the National Risk Assessments (2012, 2017, 2020, 2023, and 2026). She was appointed to the Government Task Force on Emergency Management (GTF) and also served on the World Bank’s Technical Advisory Facility Forum (TAFF), which was established to review strategic emergency management in Ireland.
Caroline is the Programme Director for the MSc in Emergency Management: the first programme of its kind on the island of Ireland. In addition, Professor McMullan is a founding member of the Emergency Management Institute Ireland (EMII) and currently serves as its Director of Education, Research & Government Liaison.
