Statement on Independent Review Group - Final Report presented to Tánaiste

The Final Report from the Independent Review Group, established on 25 January last year, to examine dignity and equality issues in the Defence Forces, has been submitted to the Tánaiste and Minister for Defence, Micheál Martin.
Speaking today, the Tánaiste commended the work of the Group, under the Chair of Ms. Justice Bronagh O’Hanlon, and noted the breadth of scope in the Terms of Reference:
"I wish to pay tribute to the Group members on the significant body of work they have undertaken during the last 12 months. I have now received the Report which I will consider in full in consultation with the Attorney General before bringing it to Government for its consideration and further engagement with relevant stakeholders."
