The Market Opportunities for Timber in Construction in Ireland report provides a comprehensive overview of the timber in construction sector in Ireland.

The report was commissioned by DETE and the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine on behalf of the Thematic Group 1: Market Opportunity under the Timber in Construction Steering Group. The report was produced by Arup with significant input from members of the working group. 

The consultants undertook data collection from both public and private sources, including surveying and interviewing the sector, to establish a baseline of timber use in Ireland, model future scenarios and provide recommendations. An excel based, market modelling tool, was developed to analyse and draw insights from the raw data. 

The report outlines the baseline of the timber product sector and includes modelling of future construction scenarios, with varying levels of timber adoption, to provide an evidence base as to how the sector might perform under specific construction output levels into the future.
