Rural Conversations

Mr Michael Ring TD, Minister for Rural and Community Development launched the Rural Conversations report at 11.30 a.m. on Wednesday, 4 September 2019 at the Royal Irish Academy.

Rural Conversations was a series of three rural stakeholder consultative events produced by the RIA’s Social Sciences Committee in association with the Department of Rural and Community Development. NUI Galway, Dundalk Institute of Technology and Waterford Institute of Technology hosted the series in their institutions.

Stakeholder feedback on economic development, social cohesion and sustainable communities in rural Ireland was recorded at each of the events. The findings from that feedback and suggestions for future rural government policy by a broad range of rural stakeholders are presented in this Rural Conversations report.
