Assigned responsibility for the direction and management of a Unit in the Legal Division that:

• Provides legal advice and assistance to a number of Divisions and Units of the Department including in respect of EU law, sanctions, international agreements, development cooperation and climate change.

• Coordinates the development, implementation and promotion of policy on international criminal law and accountability.

• Carries out functions with respect to extradition and mutual legal assistance.

• Administers the Department’s Treaty Office.

• Represents Ireland at meetings in the UN, the EU and other international organisations and legal fora.
