Government appoints new Chair of CIÉ

The Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, Mr Shane Ross, has announced that Cabinet has today approved the appointment of Ms Fiona Ross as the new Chair of CIÉ. Ms Ross is expected to formally take up the three-year appointment following her appearance before the Joint Committee on Transport, Tourism and Sport.

Ms Ross is a governance expert with a Masters of Law in corporate governance and public policy and has wide-ranging experience in international financial services in Ireland, the UK, Europe and the United States. She has extensive board-level experience and served as Director of the National Library from 2010 to 2014. She has also been a member of the Board and Audit Committee of the National Transport Authority (NTA) since 2015.
