Responsibility at Principal Officer level for enhancement and development of policy and legislative responses to support effective services to children with complex disabilities including; through the delivery of the Roadmap for Children’s Services, the Assessment of Need under the Disability act 2005, and ensuring the delivery of key services through key bodies. Also responsible for ensuring efficient cross-agency and cross-departmental working in liaison with the Department of Education and Tusla in respect of children with disabilities, thalidomide supports and legislation, and other community supports i.e. Blind Welfare/Mobility Allowance
