Health System Performance Assessment Platform Metadata Repository

Part of the Health System Performance Assessment Platform (HSPA) project is to provide access to key information with regards to Ireland’s health system. With this, however, also comes the responsibility to provide accurate and high quality information. In order to ensure that all platform users make the most of the data presented in this framework, we are providing metadata reports for various sources referenced throughout the platform.

These metadata reports aim to provide information about how the data referenced to came about, such as:

• the manner of how this information was obtained (for example: survey data, administrative records);
• classifications or definitions adopted within the presented data;
• sector coverage (for example, inclusion or exclusion of certain health services);
• reference periods and data comparability;
• legal mandates and confidentiality practices; and
• additional statistical processing made to the data prior publication.
