- Foilsithe: 25 Eanáir 2021
- An t-eolas is déanaí: 11 Aibreán 2025
The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM) invites eligible Irish Research Performing Organisations (RPOs) to submit joint research proposals under the ERA-NET ForestValue.
The primary purpose of the Second ForestValue Joint Call is to promote the best possible use of forests and forest resources for the benefit of society on its way to a climate-neutral circular economy and sustainable society
The call contributes to the overall objectives of ERA-NETs including the mobility of researchers between the countries and enhancing researcher training thereby increasing the quality of European research and innovation actions and their implementation in the forest-based sector.
The joint transnational call will address the whole forest-based value chain in three areas:
1. Sustainable and multifunctional use and management of forests, to maximize their contribution to all SDGs
2. Building with wood from various perspectives
3. Analysis of benefits, synergies and trade-offs in the use of forest biomass
Applicants are expected to use interdisciplinary research approaches and holistic perspectives encompassing all aspects of a subject.
This is a single stage competitive submission process. The deadline for the submission of proposals is 13 April 2021 (13:00 CEST). Proposals must be submitted via the electronic submission system available at the ForestValue website. In addition, there is a Partnering Support tool to assist researchers to interlink with each other and to enlarge consortia. Projects are expected to start late 2021 or early 2022.
