Additional Affordability and Activation Supports
To speed up the supply of homes to buy and rent, the Government provides extra housing supports through several schemes:
- Croí Cónaithe (Cities) Scheme and Secure Tenancy Affordable Rental (STAR) Investment Scheme: These help deliver more apartments.
- Ready to Build Scheme and Living City Initiative: Both will continue and be expanded to support more Starter Homes.
- Local Authority Home Loan: A Government-backed mortgage for eligible first-time buyers and some other applicants. This loan can be used to buy new or second-hand homes.
