This page is the official source for monthly data and reports on residential construction starts in Ireland. It tracks "Commencement Notices," which are mandatory legal notifications that builders must submit to local authorities between 14 and 28 days before work begins on site.

• Monthly Statistics: Updates on the number of new homes where construction has officially started across Ireland.
• Detailed Datasets: Downloadable reports categorized by Local Authority (e.g., Dublin City, Cork County) and building type, such as one-off houses, scheme dwellings (estates), and apartments.
• Market Indicators: These figures serve as a leading indicator of future housing supply, helping to forecast upcoming home completions.
• Construction Methods: Since 2025, it also includes data on Modern Methods of Construction (MMC), such as timber frames or 3D volumetric units.
